Quimbaya Gold Museum: Ancestral Memory and Architecture in Armenia

The Quimbaya Gold Museum is one of Armenia’s most important cultural spaces. Its permanent exhibition explores ancient ways of life in the Middle Cauca region, from the arrival of its earliest inhabitants to the societies that developed remarkable goldworking and pottery traditions in this part of Colombia.

The museum brings together archaeological objects, stories, and educational resources that help visitors understand how pre-Hispanic communities related to the land, nature, everyday life, and their symbolic practices.

The visit also offers the opportunity to appreciate the building designed by renowned Colombian architect Rogelio Salmona, where brick, water, gardens, and open spaces become part of the experience.

In addition to its exhibition halls, the cultural center includes an archaeobotanical garden, a children’s room, guided tours, workshops, and cultural activities for different audiences.
