This Privacy Policy sets out the terms under which Quindío es Mío, developed by AlfamediaWEB, uses and protects the information provided by those who use its mobile app and its website. We are committed to data security and to complying with current data protection regulations.
Information we collect
The app may collect the following personal data:
- Name and email address (for profile and authentication features).
- Profile picture, if the user chooses to upload one. It is not required to use the app.
- Geographic location, only if that permission is granted, in order to sort places by proximity and locate you on the map.
- Places you save and places you mark as visited.
- The itineraries you build in My trip, linked to your account.
- Comments, ratings and reviews that you choose to share.
- Usage preferences, such as language and the light, dark or system theme.
Use of the information
The data will be used exclusively to:
- Show, search and filter the places, activities and routes of the department of Quindío.
- Sort results by proximity when the location permission is granted.
- Keep your saved places, the ones you mark as visited and your My trip itineraries.
- Enable ratings, comments and images.
- Send notifications related to local tourism, if the user allows them.
- Statistical purposes and service improvement.
My trip and private content
My trip itineraries are private: they are saved to your account, they are not published, they are never shared automatically, and they disappear if you delete your account. The same applies to your saved places and the ones you mark as visited. When you share the link to a place, an activity or a route, what is shared is that public content, never your personal information.
Information security
We use up-to-date systems and secure protocols to protect your information. However, no system is 100% infallible, so we cannot guarantee the total security of the data stored.
Data sharing
We will not share, sell or transfer your personal information to third parties, except when legally required by a competent authority.
Third-party services
The app and the website may contain links to or integrations with external services, such as maps, weather or social networks. Weather information is provided by Tomorrow.io. When you open a route or an address in a maps application, that application is governed by its own privacy policy; the same applies to the stores the app is downloaded from.
Owner and partner data
Anyone registering a tourism place provides us with their own contact details and those of their business. That data is used to manage and validate the registration, to communicate during the process and to support the published listing.
In addition, by registering, the partner authorises AlfamediaWEB to send them information and commercial proposals about its own products and services where these are relevant to their business. Those messages always come from AlfamediaWEB: partner data is never transferred or sold to third parties for their advertising. Partners may unsubscribe from these communications at any time by writing to preguntanos@alfamediaweb.com, with no effect on the publication of their place.
Cookies and website analytics
This website uses Google Analytics to understand which pages are useful and how many people download the app. Measurement is not switched on until you accept it in the notice shown on your first visit: with no consent, no analytics cookies are installed and no visitor is identified.
If you accept, Google Analytics installs its own cookies (_ga and _ga_ followed by the property identifier) to tell repeat visits apart and produce aggregate statistics. That information is not used to identify you personally, nor for advertising: advertising and personalisation permissions remain denied.
You can change your decision at any time from the “Cookies and analytics” control in the lower corner of the screen. If you reject, measurement stops and the analytics cookies are removed from your browser.
Whatever you type into a form is never sent to analytics. From the place registration form we only record that someone started it and that someone completed it, with no field content whatsoever.
To remember your choice, the site stores a technical value in your browser's local storage. It is not sent to any server and you can clear it from your own browser.
Control over your information
You can request the deletion of your data at any time by writing to preguntanos@alfamediaweb.com, or by following the steps on the Delete my account page. You can also turn notifications off in the app settings.
Changes to this policy
Quindío es Mío reserves the right to modify this policy at any time. We recommend reviewing this section regularly.
