The Traditional Coffee Tour provides a complete introduction to coffee production. It includes a walk through the plantation, explanations of production and post-harvest processing, visits to the storage and roasting areas, and a traditional preparation using a cloth filter and metal pot.
The experience lasts approximately one hour and thirty minutes. The published price is COP $60,000 per person, with discounted admission for children under 12 and free entry for children under 6. Reservations are not mandatory, although booking in advance is recommended.
Specialized Tours
Premium Coffee Tour: explores the Coffee Cultural Landscape, sustainability, and the sensory evaluation of coffee. It includes a guided tasting and lasts approximately two hours and forty-five minutes.
Brewing Coffee Tour: focuses on preparing and calibrating filtered methods and espresso machines, along with tasting different coffees.
Roasting Coffee Tour: introduces visitors to laboratory roasting and includes a guided coffee tasting.
The Premium and Brewing tours are listed at approximately COP $120,000, while the Roasting Tour costs around COP $150,000. These experiences require advance booking and are limited to visitors over 15 years old.
Tour Times
The traditional tour is offered several times during the day:
- Spanish: approximately 10:00 a.m., 12:00 noon, 2:00 p.m., and 3:00 p.m.
- English: approximately 9:00 a.m., 11:00 a.m., 1:00 p.m., and 4:00 p.m.

How to Get There
Finca El Ocaso is located in the Palestina rural area, approximately 5 kilometers from Salento’s main square.
Visitors can arrive by private Willys Jeep, private vehicle, horseback, or on foot. The walk from Salento covers approximately 4.5 kilometers and takes about one hour, mainly downhill. Traveling on horseback takes around 40 minutes.
Vehicle access includes an unpaved rural road. Use GPS, drive carefully, and allow additional travel time during rainy periods.
Coffee House and Products
The farm has spaces where visitors can enjoy drinks prepared using different brewing methods, try products inspired by Quindío cuisine, and purchase processed and varietal coffees.
These purchases may not be included in the tour price, so an additional budget is recommended.
